Why Onsite Calibration Makes the Difference
Sending equipment away for calibration means courier risks, waiting days, and lost productivity. Our mobile calibration service eliminates all of that.
Mobile Test ‘n’ Cal’s fully equipped service units travel throughout New Zealand, calibrating your instruments at your facility. Whether you have one multimeter to recalibrate or a full site’s worth of test and measurement equipment, we coordinate the visit around your schedule… not ours.
The result: Less downtime, faster turnaround, and the peace of mind that comes from watching your equipment being tested by our specialists on your premises.
Electrical & Test Instrument Calibration
Our technicians are experienced in the calibration of a comprehensive range of electrical test equipment, including but not limited to:
- PAT Testers (Portable Appliance Testers) – all major brands
- Multifunction Testers (MFT) – all major brands
- Multimeters – including Fluke meters and all other leading brands
- Clamp Meters
- RCD Testers
- Insulation Testers
- Loop Testers
- Voltage Testers
- Process Meters and Power Quality Analysers
We calibrate all leading manufacturers. Ask our team about your equipment model.
Torque Calibration
Accurate torque application is critical in engineering, manufacturing, and infrastructure environments. An uncalibrated torque wrench risks under or over-tightening… leading to equipment failure, injury, or costly recalls.
We provide torque calibration for:
- Torque Wrenches (click, beam, dial and digital types)
- Torque Screwdrivers
Our technicians carry out torque wrench calibration to JIS (Japanese international standards), with verification certificates provided on completion.
Annual retests are recommended by most manufacturers, and we’ll send you a reminder when your equipment is next due.
Pressure Gauge Calibration
Inaccurate pressure gauges can compromise safety and process quality. Our team tests:
- Pressure Gauges (fluid and gas)
- Pressure Testers and Instruments
Whether you’re in manufacturing, oil and gas, utilities, or another pressure-sensitive industry, we help keep your readings accurate and your operations compliant.
If you require IANZ accredited calibration on your pressure gauges, reach out to our sister company, CPS NZ / Trescal New Zealand and enquire here

Testing and Verification That Meets New Zealand Standards
Electronic test equipment drifts over time. With regular use and age, components become less accurate, sometimes dangerously so. The New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 3760:2022 requires that test equipment used to carry out appliance testing is subjected to routine verification at regular intervals.
Regular retests ensures:
- Safety – inaccurate equipment can fail to detect genuine faults, putting people at risk
- Compliance – meet audit requirements and WorkSafe NZ expectations
- Accuracy – reliable readings you can trust for critical decisions
We work in alignment with New Zealand’s measurement and safety standards, ensuring your testing and verification is carried out to the highest levels of accuracy. Our measurement uncertainties are among the best in the industry.

Frequently Asked Questions FAQ
How often should I have my equipment tested? Most equipment, including PAT testers, multimeters, and torque wrenches should be retested every 12 months, or as recommended by the manufacturer. Equipment that is used heavily or has been dropped or damaged should be retested sooner.
Do you test all brands of PAT tester and multimeter? Yes. We can test all major brands including Fluke, Megger, Seaward, Metrel, Kyoritsu, and more. Contact our team if you’re unsure about your specific model.
What areas of New Zealand do you cover? We cover all of New Zealand. Our mobile units operate nationwide from Auckland to Wellington, Christchurch, and beyond. Contact us to arrange a visit.
What do I receive after calibration? You’ll receive a calibration certificate documenting that your equipment has been tested and meets the required standards, along with a calibration sticker showing the next due date.
Can you calibrate multiple instruments in one visit? Absolutely — and this is one of the biggest advantages of our mobile service. We can calibrate your entire fleet of test equipment in a single site visit, maximising efficiency and minimising downtime.
What’s the difference between calibration and PAT testing? PAT testing (Portable Appliance Testing) checks whether electrical appliances are safe to use. Calibration checks that the PAT tester itself — and other measuring instruments — are reading accurately. Both are required for a compliant workplace.
